ITER Takes Step Forward Towards Fusion Energy Future
An ion source developed at the Max Planck Institute has been chosen to heat up the plasma for ITER. Looks like they are making progress in building this thing.
I have inside info that is very reliable and multiply confirmed that validates the above story. I am not at liberty to say more. Expect a public announcement from the Navy in the coming weeks.
The above reactor can burn Deuterium which is very abundant and produces lots of neutrons or it can burn a mixture of Hydrogen and Boron 11 which does not
The implication of it is that we will know in 6 to 9 months if the small reactors of that design are feasible.
If they are we could have fusion plants generating electricity in 10 years or less depending on how much we want to spend to compress the time frame.
BTW Bussard is not the only thing going on in IEC. There are a few government programs at the University of Wisconsin and at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana among others.
It's unfortunate that you so routinely dismiss and degrade mainstream physics. A literature search of the peer-reviewed publications produced by IEC programs at UofW, UI, and Kyoto indicates that they are primarily focused on the neutron generation applications (explosive detection, medical isotope generation, etc) rather than claims of net energy production. As recently stated in a 2005 Physical Review Letter(Phys. Rev. Lett. 95, 015003 (2005))demonstrating evidence of POPS, *verifiable* Q values for existing IEC reactors are less than 0.0001. I think you are wildly optimistic.
can someone tell me about this guy from ?florida who makes "energy" from salt water using radio waves_? sorry to ask of you such a foolish question but the previous poster who spoke of "secret" info amd 10 years till free abundant unlimited energy made me speak here - so the energy from the flame is slightly less than the energy he is putting into the radio waves right? (many video's on this on various video sites) I like how he alsways dwonplays his discovery (which is also supposed to kill any cancer cells) by saying "he hopes this wil invigorate the local county and it's economy" - yes curing cancer and crating free unlimited energy will not only help your county's (not country)'s economy and make you very wealthy so why not say so? oh he is just being humble haha
