Shatter Metals With Liquid Nitrogen
More fun and educational demo from Jefferson Lab. This time, it shows how one can shatter a metal (pewter) by cooling it with liquid nitrogen. Too bad they didn't spend much time explaining why this happens.
Well said Zz. No wonder why experimental physicists are thought of as sitting around with safety goggles and playing with liquid nitrogen. Lest we pitch it as an intellectual stimulating subject in itself...
