Hawking To Retire as Lucasian Professor

Stephen Hawking will retire as Cambridge's Lucasian Professor next year.

A spokesman said it was policy for the title holder to retire at 67. Hawking, who has held the position since 1979 and has worked at Cambridge since 1962, will be 67 in January.

I didn't know that there's an age limit of 67 for that position. That's rather odd! And why such an arbitrary number "67"? Were they only choosing prime numbers? :)
