As the day draws closer to the end of the Tevatron, we're seeing more news articles on its accomplishments. This is a more personal look at the history and life of the Tevatron, presented by someone who certainly has a first-hand connection to this machine.
Abstract: For 25 years the Tevatron proton-antiproton collider was the highest energy
collider in the world. This presentation will trace the origins of the
Tevatron, the challenges that were overcome in creating high luminosity
collisions of protons and antiprotons, the technological achievements that
drove performance a factor of 400 beyond the initial performance goals, and the
legacy of the Tevatron in paving the way for ever more advanced colliders.
