This is fun. It is always fun to make fun of movies that really don't care about what science they trampled on. So this is Yahoo Movies Top 10 scientifically inaccurate movies.

But is the writer trampling on science? A quote from the article
"But microwaves aren't affected by magnetism, and the radiation that comes from space is too weak to damage anything here"
Microwaves are E&M waves, therefore they ARE affected by magnetism, that's just a consequence of the superposition principle.
Solar radiation can be damaging, e.g. skin cancer, solar flares messing up electronics, etc.
